About Us


The 2nd Experimental Lyceum of Athens is a school in the center of Athens (Greece) beneath the mount of Lycabettus which is a Cretaceous limestone hill. The school was founded in 2001 and named as experimental after an evaluation in 2011. It’s 486 students come from every part of the county of Attiki. Physical education (PE) is an educational course of the school related to the physique of the human body and encourages psychomotor learning in a play or movement exploration setting to promote health. The determination of the health level includes the evaluation of the health parameters. One of the most important parameter is the evaluation of physical fitness (PF) which is divided into the evaluation of body composition, body size, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular power, running speed, agility and cardiovascular endurance. The purpose of this web page is to inform the students of the school and any other concerned about: a. the sport activities that take place in the school, b. the level of physical fitness of the adolescents, c. the results of the school teams and athletes in the national school championships and d. the benefits of exercise in health. Physical education teacher and responsible of this effort is Mr. Athanasios Tsoukos (Track & Field Coach, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, BSc, MSc, Phd in the University of Athens, School of Sports Science).
